Who is in this community? How do they communicate? Blog development plan
According to the 2000 census, most immigrants from the former Soviet Union arrived between 1990 and 2000, around the time the Soviet Union was collapsing. Most of the immigrants who arrived from the U.S.S.R. before its collapse earned U.S. citizenship, but the majority of those who arrived after did not.
For this reason, I believe news not only from their own countries of origin but also from neighboring countries that were formerly part of the U.S.S.R. interests this audience. I have seen in Chicago that immigrants from across the former Soviet Union form communities together, usually bound by their common language, Russian.
Also, it seems information about citizenship would be of interest to this audience.
Peace Corps volunteers often have their own blogs, where they discuss their daily lives more than the political situation in the country of service or the news. They connect online in order to communicate with other volunteers in their groups, to get tips about what to bring and to talk about the application process.
